Building Research Capacity

Dysgraphia Life is working on a project called, Building Research Capacity for Patient Centered Outcomes Research in the Dysgraphia Community which is being funded by a $250,000 award from the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI).

The overall project goal is to build, engage, and educate the dysgraphia community on patient-centered research practices and prioritize research on the most important questions for people diagnosed and their families to improve health outcomes.

Key components of this project have included our Stories Sparking Science initiative and creation of the short training videos below.

Currently we are running a survey for parents and guardians of students with learning disabilities to inform the project. If you are a parent or guardian, please take 15 minutes to complete the survey about how you learn about learning disabilities and new research.

Anyone can help contribute to the project right now by sharing your personal response to this question, "What is the most important problem in dysgraphia that needs a solution?"

This engagement award project will not only help us raise awareness of dysgraphia and the large number of students that are struggling with learning disabilities in written expression, it will allow us to prioritize the research that is most important to those diagnosed and their loved ones. There are so many research needs in this community and a lot of work to do. We are thrilled to be able to partner with a fantastic group of diverse stakeholders to carry out this project.”
