Code of Conduct

DYSGRAPHIA LIFE
COMMUNITY FORUM CODE OF CONDUCT

Writing can be hard! Being part of a community shouldn’t have to be!

We’ve launched this community forum to help support and connect people impacted by dysgraphia and writing difficulties, whether it’s you or someone you love. We want to make it easy but we’re asking you to observe a few simple rules while you are here.

Please do these things!
  • Ask questions. Someone else might have an answer for you.

  • Share your experience. Post what has helped you because it may be what someone else is looking for.

  • Be kind and respectful. We don’t expect you to agree with everything everyone says but remember, not everyone has the same experience and different things work for different people.

Please don’t do these things!
  • No offensive or obscene language.

  • Hate speech, threats, and trolling will absolutely not be tolerated. It’s really important to us that this is a safe space for communication. We will delete posts that violate this rule and you may be banned from using the community and we really don’t want that to happen.

  • No links soliciting donations, even for charities.

  • No advertising (at least not here). If you or your organization provide goods or services that you think the dysgraphia community can benefit from, please don’t post it here. Rather, email info@dysgraphia.life and we can talk about how to share resources with the community.

  • If you have an interesting research project or survey that you want to share, please don’t post it here. Email info@dysgraphia.life and we can talk about the best way to support your work.

In addition to these rules, remember that by using this community, you agreed to our Terms of Service

We want our community to be an active, vibrant, and inclusive place to share questions, solutions, successes, frustrations, and everything else. We also want the information shared to be open and available to all. For that reason, we have chosen to make the content written here available to the public, even if they aren't a member

What does this mean for you?

We understand that there can be stigma associated with learning disabilities. Your child may be treated differently. You may feel that you are facing workplace discrimination due to your dysgraphia. And unfortunately, we know that people use information that they find publicly on the internet against people all the time.

We want to encourage open and authentic communication but we understand if you need to be careful. Feel free to use a username and/or profile picture that you connect with even if it isn't actually your name. We understand if you prefer to use just your first name or even an alias. The same goes for references to your child if you are posting about them. We get it and support your need for privacy for you or your family.
