Description
I have licensure in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, and Curriculum and Instruction. I am a Ceritified Dyslexia Practitioner. I am Certified in Wilson Reading System and have training in Orton-Gillingham Curriculum.
I have classroom teaching experience for 21 years. I have been Wilson certified for 10 years. I have tutored for 10 plus years; in person and online. I took an early retirement from the classroom in May 2021. I have taught so many children to read that I have lost count. This past year I had the privilege of writing graduation letters to six children that I had either taught to read in the classroom with Wilson Reading or one to one in a tutoring situtation. I have also taught groups of children in afterschool programs.
I am married to a man who struggled all his life with Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and Dyscalculia. We have three grown children with Dyslexia combined with anxiety and ADHD. One of those children has Dysgraphia and Dyscalculia. I also have two grandchildren with Dyslexia and one of those children has Dysgraphia and Dyscalculia as well.
